The Petersen Automobile Museum

The OC sections participation in the Peterson Automobile Museum's breakfast cruise and vault tour was a great opportunity to see some spectacular automobiles. It started with a free pancake breakfast on the top of the parking garage. Besides the Mercedes driven by our section there were dozens of other exotic cars on display as part of the breakfast cruise. Next we spend several hours going through the museum exhibits, attended the design symposium and had lunch at Johnny Rockets. The real high point of this event was the vault tour after lunch. This was a special opportunity to see well over 100 classic and historically important automobiles that were not on display in the museum. Our vault tour took about two hours. During that time our guide did an outstanding job of explaining the significance of many of the cars in the vault. He also provided historical background about the design and ownership of these vehicles.
