New Member Picnic

The new member picnic on May 6 at White Horse Ranch was an unqualified success thanks to all the planning and preparation by Marlyn Ortiz. Despite the lengthy drive to Fallbrook, we had over 60 people sign up for the picnic and 14 MBZ cars participate in the "Concours de Ordinair". The weather was warm and sunny making it ideal for a social gathering by the lake with an outstanding Bar-B-Q lunch. After lunch, our chief judge, Bob Reinfried selected the Concours' winners. New member Terry Geffeney won the high mileage award with his 1985 500 SEL that had 335,589 miles on the odometer. The award for oldest car driven to the picnic went to John & Dorothy Lindeman in their 1967 250SL. The best prepared category was won by John Prevost with his black SL500. Judy Caruso drove the car voted most desirable to drive home with her twin turbo AMG SL65. Many thanks go to David Romo's son Derick Romo for letting us use White Horse Ranch for this event.
