Cars & Cockpits

On Sunday, March 4 the Lyon Air Museum opened their parking lot for Mercedes-Benz fans to partake in "Cars & Cockpits" and event focusing on a single marque or type of vehicle. Several MBCA Orange County members took advantage of the sparkling clear and sunny day to display their cars, socialize and visit the Lyon Air Museum. We even had a couple of local Concours winners in our group. The Lindeman's with their 1967 250SL and Roger Rousset with his 1957 190SL. Geoff Sawyer brought his 1970 280SL he inherited from his grandfather 14 years ago. He has only recently gotten the car back up and running so look for some changes to it over the next few events.

Most of the time was spent talking to others about their cars and getting to know one another. A many strolled through the museum to view the WWII aircraft, vehicles and memorabilia. After displaying our cars and touring the air museum, many of us accepted the invitation from Jim Stone and Blake Smith to have lunch at the Newport Beach American Legion. The Legion provided for a great lunch and modestly priced beverages with a view of the marina.
